Storyboards

Over the weekend I had a huge boost of productive inspiration, wrote a rough script for the story I want to develop, and boarded it:

If anyone has any suggestions/critiques/parts they thought were strong, please let me know! :)

Awwwwww... good start, Rosie! Warm story idea with such a clean, professional presentation.

Just curious, have you considered having Cher and the main character meet each other in the beginning instead of using the Mom character? If they were neighbors for instance, they could have a quick exchange in the beginning (something like Cher saying she's staying home "sick" ("*cough*"), Glasses reminding her that means someone else will sing, Cher laughing it off "Ha! Nobody could sing it better than me...") which would help to set up Glasses' apprehensions/failure as well as give you an optional chance to revisit a better Cher at the end.

Just blabberin' though. Keep up the amazing work; I'll be visiting and hopefully joining Theme Sketch if you all keep it going!

Aw! Thank you so much Ian!!

I actually have considered something like that, but never thought more in depth about it. I think I'm gonna curb the intro more in that direction though, since the beginning as it is now definitely isn't as clear as I'd want it to be. I think that'll be a good way to bring Cher back into the story later, if necessary.

Thanks for the thoughtful response! Theme Sketch is definitely still going on, just not as avidly lately! (ha!) However, I think it'll pick up again soon. If you want to join it, send me the e-mail you use for your blog, and I'll send you an invite! :)

The music teacher's schnoz!! :D Ahaaa. I thought the last set was really strong, and there's a lot of emotion displayed there. I also agree with the above comments about the beginning. :D

Hey, did Mark give you any advice on this?

This little girl is obscenely cute. I don't know if you did this intentionally, but the music teacher actually LOOKS like a musical note! Just a head with a line of action bending away from it, haha, it's terrific.

The old man had me pretty confused--I wasn't sure who he was--even in the end. I hear this whole thing's been seriously retooled, though. I'd love to see the new boards.

Thanks a lot you guys!

Yeah, the boards really being reworked from scratch. Some scenes are being slashes, one the football stadium blunder is now gonna be the main focus.

Mark gave tons of advice about the boards, and hopefully that advice will show in the newest revision! I'll post up his reasoning and my reasoning (and Everett's, since he's been helping me a lot too!) along with the new boards soon.

I'm definitely taking into consideration everyone's advice, so thanks SO MUCH again!!
